I want to provide children with loving care and professional treatment that is targeted, intensive and that helps them. Children should not been burdened beyond what is necessary and what is necessary should not be neglected. Such treatment we would like to offer to our paediatric patients here.

 A great reward for my work is to see good results and improvements in children. If an eye disorder is detected early we can achieve great progress and vision of children may improve already in a few weeks.

I feel rather fulfilled working and communicating with children, however, the treatment is often very difficult. If you encourage children and give them the emotional support and professional loving care they cooperate much better. Helping children makes me really happy.

I can often hear to say "but my child can see even a small plane". Yes, but it is possible that the child uses only one eye without knowing it. If it is revealed and solved in time, there is a big chance to restore the vision. And it is our greatest reward.

I am convinced that the timely and correct diagnosis followed by the quality care and treatment, as well as close cooperation with parents, can return the child to full life.

I do not only enjoy working with children but it is also rather rewarding because it is a combination of medical and pedagogical skills. Every child is different and therefore requires an individual approach.

Even small advances in the treatment of visual defects can help a child to gain motivation and joy of new activities that were impossible for him or her because of an undetected eye defect. We help a child to gain more confidence and better interaction in a group of children, and particularly to develop naturally by proper treatment minimizing his or her eye defect.

I like working with children because they are tender, natural and unaffected. Every day with them is different, interesting. I am also glad to see the results of my work in improving the health status of children and their satisfied parents.

I feel well when I know that our work has a certain meaning and helps children to see better after the treatment in our Children’s Eye Centre Kukátko. We help them to open doors that might otherwise remain closed.
